Overview
Responsible for the daily operation and clinical supervision of the Social Work staff in the Inpatient Psychiatry Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service and Child Study Center. Clinically and administratively responsible for day-to-day oversight of all activities within the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service in collaboration with the Clinical Director and the Nurse Manager to ensure the delivery of quality patient care that is consistent with regulatory agency standards and evidence-based approaches to clinical management.
Responsibilities
-Responsible for the implementation of hospital’s policies and procedures, as well as regulatory agencies codes and regulations as they pertain to the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service.
-Responsible for the operations and management of the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Nurse Manager.
-Responsible for the supervision of Social Work staff in the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service and Child Study Center.
-Performs any necessary clinical functions in the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Service that are required to ensure quality patient care.
-Collaborates with the Director of Psychiatric Social in developing and maintaining educational programs for all Social Work staff.
-Assembles and prepares data relative to clinical activities as well as other statistical and special reports required by the N.Y. State Office of Mental Health (OMH), the N.Y. City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS).
-Responsible for gathering performance improvement data, gathering information and meeting compliance standards for regulatory agency surveys, including OMH, DOH, and TJC.
-Coordinates referrals from outside agencies to BronxCare.
-Functions as a liaison between Adolescent Inpatient Service, Child Study Center, and CPEP
-Carries a selected caseload and performs other essential functions as deemed necessary
Qualifications
-New York State License in Social Work required
-Five (5) years clinical experience in a child and adolescent behavioral health care setting, preferably outpatient.
-At least wo (2) years administrative and/or supervisory experience.
