Job Summary
Position title: Specialty Manager for Nursing Homes
Job summary: The Specialty Manager oversees the Nursing Home Division’s team of specialty providers and consultants, ensuring that clinical services are aligned with facility needs and organizational performance goals. This role provides leadership and oversight to both specialists and their supporting Clinical Assistants (CAs), ensuring visit targets are met, documentation is complete, and billing processes are timely. The Specialty Manager acts as the primary liaison between specialty services and facility leadership, driving quality, efficiency, and accountability across all consultative disciplines. This role requires a blend of clinical operations experience, people management, and performance tracking.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operational performance of all specialty providers and consultants within the Nursing Home Division,
- including psychiatry, podiatry, optometry, dentistry, and other consultative services.
- Monitor provider productivity, ensuring visit goals are met and reported accurately across facilities.
- Track and follow up on timely and complete documentation, including note submission and billing compliance.
- Supervise and support the Clinical Assistants working with specialty providers to ensure smooth coordination of visits, schedules, and documentation workflows.
- Serve as the main point of contact between specialty teams and facility administration, resolving escalations and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Maintain up-to-date tracking of provider assignments, service frequencies, and facility coverage to ensure ongoing alignment with patient care needs.
- Identify gaps in specialty services or performance trends and implement strategies to improve quality, efficiency, and outcomes.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of specialty providers and coordinate related operational setup (e.g., access, credentialing, schedules).
- Lead or assist with in-servicing and coaching of underperforming staff and specialists as needed.
- Ensure specialists and CAs adhere to internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Medical School Degree preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
Excellent communication skills
Confidence when speaking to clinicians and business leaders
Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Strong organizational skills to give team direction
Knowledge of care provided in Nursing Homes
Aware of and complies with E&M Guidelines for Nursing Home Care
Able to navigate various EHR systems
