Responsibilities
Housekeeping Aide Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of general areas and assigned resident rooms
Move personal belongings and clean/disinfect floors, furniture, beds, and bathrooms when residents are discharged or transferred
Follow safety rules and maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards
Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene
Store cleaning compounds and hazardous substances safely for resident and staff protection
Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in a sanitary manner that prevents disease, fire hazards, or pest breeding
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff
Support and abide by Elderwood’s Mission, Vision, and Values and compliance policies

Qualifications
Housekeeping Aide Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred
*Individuals under 18 years of age must be excluded from the usage of dangerous equipment such as: compactors.
- This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
