Job Summary and Responsibilities
St. Alexius Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Addiction Counselor to join our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive implementation and coordination of addiction services for patients within our program.
You will collaborate closely with primary care providers, referring physicians, and the Department of Psychiatry to ensure integrated patient care. This position requires strong clinical skills and adherence to all St. Alexius Medical Center and PHP policies and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough addiction/chemical dependency evaluations, including family history and dynamics, and document findings accurately.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and coordinate individualized, age-appropriate treatment plans, including goals and interventions, in collaboration with patients, families, and the multi-disciplinary team. Continuously evaluate progress and modify plans as needed.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide effective individual, group, and family therapy using age-appropriate treatment interventions.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all clinical activities.
- Program Development & Support: Actively contribute to innovative programming opportunities, assist with denials and appeals, and participate in community education and marketing for the PHP.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work effectively within a team environment, participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Addictions Counseling required.
- Licensure: Current licensure as an Addictions Counselor by the ND Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners is required.
- Experience: One year of experience in addiction counseling is preferred. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
- Skills: Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical skills in patient care delivery, familiarity with state licensing requirements, and an understanding of program development. Excellent communication, record-keeping, and report-writing abilities are essential. Proficiency with computer systems, including keyboarding and telephone use.
