Job Summary and Responsibilities
- Calling or mailing letters to patients about past due balances.
- Meeting with patients to collect money, discuss their bill or setup monthly payment plans.
- Sending out electronic patient statements weekly.
- Adjust off accounts to go to collections and communicate with collection agency.
- Assist patients to apply for hardship applications with the hospital.
- Work credits and small balance accounts monthly..
Job Requirements
- 2 years’ experience performing billing duties at a medical clinic preferably in patient collections.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Strong understanding of clinic billing practices, knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, attention to detail, ability to handle a high volume of work, self-starter and good organizational skills.
