Responsible for administering the Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility, Medical disability, long term care applications and Hospital Financial Assistance Programs. Act as a liaison between the patients, physician, patient clinics, accounts, and community agencies. Responsible for performing financial screenings on patients and making a determination based on provided information; therefore directing the patient to the appropriate financial program. Also, responsible for counseling patients regarding their financial obligation and collection of monies owed for medical services. Administering and counseling insured and non-insured patients on payment plans and/or package pricing, and writing off or adjusting all accounts as deemed necessary. Interacts with executives and other leadership on approval of payment plans or settlements. Works closely with the Patient Representatives in researching and handling patient complaints related to billing.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. This role is on-site and is not remote eligible.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. required
- Preferred 1 year health care experience.
- Preferred knowledge of registration and billing and credit scoring. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Accurate computer typing skills.
Physical Requirements - Sedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally.
