Frequently asked questions

The Greeley area has a growing need for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Nurse Practitioners due to increased focus on opioid dependency care. While opportunities exist, competition can be moderate as healthcare providers like Wellpath emphasize specialized skills and compassionate patient engagement, making strong clinical backgrounds advantageous.

Colorado healthcare employers often prioritize Nurse Practitioners with a current state license and CPR certification, alongside a DATA 2000 waiver for prescribing controlled substances. These credentials are essential for MAT roles, ensuring compliance with local regulations and effective opioid addiction treatment.

MAT Nurse Practitioners excel in managing opioid dependence through comprehensive assessment, tailored medication plans, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Their expertise in behavioral health integration and familiarity with addiction protocols sets them apart from standard primary or acute care nurse practitioners.

Professionals in MAT nursing can progress towards leadership roles in addiction medicine programs, clinical education, or policy advocacy. Continuous learning opportunities, such as advanced certifications or involvement in research, enhance prospects within underserved healthcare sectors.

Daily responsibilities include conducting detailed medical examinations, diagnosing opioid use disorders, managing medication plans, documenting patient progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Prompt response to emergencies and patient education are also key aspects.

Wellpath empowers MAT Nurse Practitioners to deliver patient-centered care focused on vulnerable populations, combining autonomy with team collaboration. The organization supports ongoing training and emphasizes compassionate, non-judgmental treatment approaches tailored to complex patient needs.

Beyond comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, Wellpath provides perks like daily pay options, tuition assistance, wellness programs, and preferred banking partnerships. These benefits reflect a commitment to holistic employee well-being and financial flexibility.

In Greeley, Medication Assisted Treatment Nurse Practitioners typically earn between $95,000 and $115,000 annually, influenced by experience, certifications, and employer. This range aligns with regional healthcare demand and reflects specialized skills in addiction treatment nursing.

Wellpath encourages maintaining current licensure and certifications such as CPR and DATA 2000 waivers. The company also offers ongoing education and clinical resource support to keep MAT Nurse Practitioners updated with best practices and regulatory changes.
