Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Security Officer, you will monitor buildings and grounds on the property to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, and other visitors.
Every day you will monitor the property by walking and driving around the premises. Your security detail could include guarding facility and unit access points, monitoring surveillance cameras, testing new security technology, and protecting all employees/visitors against acts of violence should they arise.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need the ability to remain calm and take action based on the situation, known facts, and understand the position limitations. You are also expected to respond to emergency codes in a timely manner. Previous experience in security/patrol in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Maintains a comprehensive inspection test and maintenance program for all security physical and electronic measures. Follows up on pending security issues.
- Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan. Manages and coordinates responses to critical incidents. Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches.
- Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud.
- Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff and may serve as Field Training Guard.
- Conducts routine safety patrols of assigned areas reporting safety and security issues within those areas.
- Conducts access control and provides escorts for visitors to secure areas.
- Responds to calls for Security presence within the Emergency Department and assists staff as requested.
- Provides helipad and landing security.
Minimum:
- Six (6) months experience as a Security Officer involving extensive public contact.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid AZ State Driver's License within 30 days of hire with satisfactory DMV report upon hire and annually.
- American Heart Association-issued BLS card within 60 days of hire.
Preferred:
- One (1) year experience as a security guard in a hospital or healthcare setting, prior law enforcement or military service.
- Completion of college level education courses in Criminal Justice
- Basic Health Care Security Officer (BSO)
