Personnel assigned on shifts to carry out planned activities of the security program as well as any authorized duties relating to emergency management functions.
- Implements requirements of the Security Management Plan. Manages and coordinates responses to critical incidents. Monitors and documents actual and potential security breaches.
- Monitors existing security systems and technologies for possible security leaks or fraud.
- Conducts ongoing security orientation and training of assigned staff and may serve as Field Training Officer.
- Maintains a high level of visibility and provides an armed presence in the Emergency Department and Siena Hello Desk.
- Conducts routine safety patrols of assigned areas reporting safety and security issues within those areas.
- Responds to calls for Security presence within the Emergency Department and assists staff as requested.
A valid License to Carry a Concealed Weapon in the state of Nevada (CCW) is a mandatory requirement for this position. Job Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a security officer involving extensive public contact.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of Life Safety TJC CMS and OSHA regulations and standards. Workplace violence training within 6 months of employment.
- Completion of NIMS compliant ICS 100HCb 200b & 700a courses or state equivalent. CPR BLS & HA Certification within 90 days of employment.
- International Association of Healthcare Security Services (IAHSS) Basic course within 90 days of employment and IAHSS Advanced course within six months of employment.
- Essential Cognitive Functions - Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; maintain attention and concentration for necessary periods; synthesize coordinate and analyste data perform simple and repetitive tasks; maintain a work pace appropriate to given workload; perform complex and varied tasks; relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; get along with co-worers and peers; understand the meaning of words and how to use them appropriately and effectively; understand and remember detailed instructions; make independent decisions or exercise judgment based on appropriate information; accept and carry out responsibility for direction control and planning.
- Poses a valid State Drivers License or have the ability to obtain prior to hire date. = DRV LIC;
- CT CCW = Certified to Carry Concealed Weapon in the State of Nevada. Failure to provide this information may result in automatic denial during the selection process.
- Must have a current CCW or able to produce the receipt submitted to LVMPD; awaiting their approved CCW hard card.
