What You'll Be Doing
Main Function: The Intake & Group Clinician is responsible for conducting comprehensive intake assessments and facilitating therapeutic group sessions for children, adolescents, and adults with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. This is a dual-role position, which offers a dynamic and rewarding clinical experience. This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy fast-paced, varied clinical work and are looking to strengthen their diagnostic and group facilitation skills within a supportive, team-based environment. The clinician will complete biopsychosocial assessments, determine level of care, enter data into NJSAMS, and lead evidence-based group therapy sessions across age groups. This is a great opportunity for a clinician who values structure, clinical growth, and working with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial biopsychosocial assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, evaluating mental health/substance use history, risk factors, and psychosocial functioning.
- Formulate diagnostic impressions using DSM-5-TR and determine appropriate level of care (including ASAM criteria where applicable).
- Complete timely and accurate intake documentation, including required data entry into NJSAMS and internal EHR systems.
- Facilitate therapeutic group sessions across age groups using evidence-based approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed, psychoeducation, relapse prevention).
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate ongoing services.
- Monitor client engagement in group services and provide clinical support as needed.
- Maintain compliance with documentation standards, agency policies, and confidentiality requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Participate in supervision, clinical team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
What We're Looking For
Full Time Day Shift ( Varied Schedule)
Education: Master’s Degree required in Counseling, Social Work, or Related Field
Experience: 2-4 yrs (required);
Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred.
Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in mental health and/or substance use treatment settings.
Familiarity with DSM-5-TR, ASAM Criteria, and intake/diagnostic processes.
Proficiency with NJSAMS or willingness to learn with training support.
Experience facilitating group therapy across age groups preferred.
Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a clinical team.
- Licensure/Certifications: NJ LSW or NJ LAC required; NJ LCADC, NJ LPC, or NJ LCSW preferred. Valid NJ Driver’s License required for programs that include in-home visits
