Where You'll Work

At CommonSpirit Mountain Region, we believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness.

At St. Anthony North Hospital (144th), a proud Magnet® designated hospital, our
Emergency Department has 34 beds with a range from 110-150 patients per day. As a
Level III trauma, stroke, and STEMI certified emergency department, we see neonatal
through geriatric populations and take care of anything and everything. We see some low
acuity, but mostly high acuity patients, including sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath,
falls and abdominal pain with about a 25% admission rate. Given the unpredictability of
the ED, our nurse-to-patient ratio can vary but we strive for 4:1. Our goal is for our patients
and their family members to know that when they enter our ED, they will be treated with
respect, dignity and receive excellent care by our talented nurses, critical care techs and
providers. Known for having great teamwork and shared governance, our team effectively
works together on processes and initiatives that increase employee satisfaction and
facilitate close relationships between staff and providers. We currently do self-scheduling
with a block holiday pattern, allowing employees to know what holidays they are working
for the next 3 years. To be part of our team, we look for someone who is open minded,
energetic, and team-oriented with a great attitude and communication skills. Being a
very high-stress, high-emotion environment, it is important that we have compassion for
all those that trust us to take care of them.

Frequently asked questions

An RN Clinical Coordinator in the emergency room juggles direct patient care while acting as a clinical resource for staff, ensuring smooth communication between nurses and physicians. This role involves clinical judgment, coordinating workflows, and supporting staff without formal supervisory duties, crucial in a fast-paced emergency setting.

While an RN license is mandatory, certifications like ACLS, PALS, or specialty emergency nursing credentials boost expertise and credibility. These certifications demonstrate proficiency in critical care, improving patient outcomes and positioning coordinators for leadership roles in emergency departments.

Westminster's emergency departments encounter diverse patient acuity levels, often with high-stress cases like trauma or strokes. Coordinators must adapt to fluctuating patient volumes and foster staff resilience amid Colorado’s evolving healthcare demands, balancing quality care with operational efficiency.

Westminster’s growing population and regional healthcare expansion have amplified demand for skilled emergency nursing coordinators. Facilities like Catholic Health Initiatives seek experienced RNs to manage complex cases and support staff, reflecting competitive hiring trends in this metro area.

Catholic Health Initiatives emphasizes humankindness and team collaboration, positioning RN Clinical Coordinators as vital clinical links rather than managers. Their approach fosters ethical nursing, patient-family engagement, and shared governance, enhancing care quality in high-acuity emergency environments.

This role uniquely blends clinical leadership with hands-on nursing in a magnet-designated hospital setting. Catholic Health Initiatives values compassionate care, offering robust support and growth opportunities, while emphasizing relational accountability across emergency department teams.

RN Clinical Coordinators in Westminster, CO generally earn between $75,000 and $95,000 annually, depending on experience and certifications. Given the emergency room specialty and hospital prestige, compensation often includes bonuses and relocation assistance to attract top-tier nursing talent.

This position involves medium physical exertion, occasionally requiring lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent patient interaction. Coordinators must maintain stamina for dynamic environments, balancing patient care duties with coordination responsibilities under physically demanding conditions.

By serving as a clinical mentor and communication bridge, the coordinator fosters teamwork and professional growth. Their input on coaching and performance management helps maintain high staff morale, crucial in Westminster’s high-pressure emergency settings where emotional resilience is vital.

Experienced coordinators can progress into nurse management, clinical education, or specialized emergency nursing leadership roles. Building expertise in coordinating patient care and staff development creates opportunities within hospital systems like Catholic Health Initiatives and beyond.
