The Emergency Department at St. Anthony Hospital, one of our proud Magnet® designated hospitals, is a verified American College of Surgeons’ Level I Trauma Center. We are a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center and a cardiac receiving center. We are a high-volume ED treating a variety of medical and cardiac conditions with 46 beds and approximately 58,000 visits per year. We are the home of Flight for Life® Colorado and surrounding areas bring around 1,000 patients from medical to trauma. As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, shift charge, as well as:
- Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality care delivery to each patient.
- Acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
- Maintaining communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
- Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Act as a professional role model for all staff by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
- Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Actively serves on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
- Being personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following:
- RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,
- Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact. - Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
- BLS from the American Heart Association required or within 8 weeks of hire
- ACLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire or within 6 months from hire
- ENPC required upon hire or within 6 months from hire
- NIHSS required upon hire or within 6 months from hire
- TNCC required upon hire or within 6 months from hire
- PALS required upon hire or within 6 months from hire
- One year RN ED experience required
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Hours: 7p-7:30am
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
