***This position is remote, but will be expected to work PST business hours. Preference for candidates currently residing in California.
Position Summary:
As a Sr Financial Analyst with the Dignity Health Medical Foundation, now part of CommonSpirit Health, you will function as a key source of advanced financial expertise, providing financial business development, analytical services, and recommendations that influence sound business decisions, enable delivery of business objectives, and guide long-term business planning.
Your success in this role comes from being an active contributor and performing complex analysis of financial and statistical results.
Some of your daily activities will include:
- Preparation of preliminary monthly financial statements
- Data-mining and research for variance drivers and sharing those findings
- Lead value projects that directly improve the bottom line
- Recommending Journal entries based upon policy or guidance per US GAAP
- Support early intervention, financial standardization and reporting improvement plans
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience) required
- Five (5) years of experience in preparing and monitoring complex budgets required
- Five (5) years of experience in performing complex project research and analysis
- Requires:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel
- Knowledge of research techniques sufficient to collect and interpret detailed financial data
- Knowledge of descriptive statistics to analyze statistical data and prepare estimates
- Knowledge of legal and fiscal requirements and regulations, knowledge of accrual based accounting (i.e., GAAP)
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data
- Ability to organize, coordinate and monitor project work
- Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and prepare and conduct effective presentations
- Exhibited integrity in all actions and communications
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead others in a team environment and work well individually
- Integrity and ethics in day-to-day tasks and decision making

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's in Accounting or Finance or CPA designation preferred
- Five (5) years of multi-regional budget experience preferred
- Three (3) years of experience in a health care organization preferred
- Previous experience and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Access, Lawson, and Axiom preferred
