The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing, cultivating, and expanding customer relationships and sales within the assigned territory. This customer facing role ensures alignment between SDI-EBPD’s commercial strategy and operational capabilities while meeting volume and margin targets and developing long term partnerships across the Southwestern U.S. and Mexico
Responsibilities
Perform all required Sales duties safely and professionally Execute day-to-day commercial activities for oil, gas, and industrial accounts, including pricing, forecasting, technical/quality support, sustainability topics, and contract negotiations. Develop and support the overall Steel Dynamics business and growth strategy through managing pricing, RFQ’s, and market initiatives. Monitor competitive activity and provide effective feedback to Sales Leadership. Build, develop, and maintain trusted relationships at all levels of customer teams in the U.S. and Mexico, including OEM-directed and Tiered supply partners (some requiring Spanish-speaking skills) to ensure sustainable recognition and leverage new business opportunities. Build, develop, and maintain transparent and trusted relationships with Inside Sales and Operations teams to optimize communication and decision-making, benefiting both customers and SDI. Work effectively with other departments to meet customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction. Contribute meaningfully to the profitability of the company Demonstrate pride in SDI’s products, culture and goals.
Qualifications
Mandatory 5+ years previous steel sales experience. Strong organizational and analytical skills. High energy, team-oriented, and relationship driven. Ability to travel 50% – consecutive over-nights may be required. International travel may be required. Must have the ability to acquire necessary travel documents. Ability to manage time, manage travel & manage oneself. Fiduciary responsibility to manage and report expenses, entertainment & travel. Proficient in basic computer skills including excel, advanced excell skills preferred
