What You'll Be Doing
- The Monitor Technician provides clerical support to the department, places patients on and off cardiac monitors, changes batteries on telemetry units, monitors for and promptly reports cardiac rhythm problems, and obtains and posts monitor strips in the medical record.
- The Monitor Technician reports directly to the Nursing Care Coordinator or designee (Charge Nurse) of the unit.
What We're Looking For
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalency, successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia Course and practicum
Experience: Clinical Unit Secretary course and Medical terminology course preferred
Skills: Ability to communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing. Working knowledge and expertise of computer systems and software. Ability to handle confidential information.
