Job Summary and Responsibilities
Expectations: Clinical needs include ICU, Med Surg/Telemetry, Emergency, OR, Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Women’s’ Services.
The TX RN Division Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards set the organization. The primary function of this role is to be available and flexible to float to various departments, and sites throughout the Texas Market to provide patient care, which could include but not limited to scheduling day of staffing, more than one assignment location within a single shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing patterns. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a Clinical Leader. Clinical needs include ICU, Med Surg/Telemetry, Emergency, OR/PACU, Cardiac Cath Lab and Women’s’ Services.
RN Clinical Float Pool are hired with the understanding they must float based on the tiers below, the schedule is based on the needs of the organization:
Float RN I A:Employee agrees to be assigned to any facility within their designated market. Employees will be required to float between all the facilities included in the tier that individual commits to supporting. Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 2 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend. Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy. Tier I only applies to the following markets: South and North Houston; Brazos Valley and East Texas. Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is not included.
The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $50.00. Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.
Float RN I B:Employee agrees to be assigned to any facility within their designated market. Employees will be required to float between all the facilities included in the tier that individual commits to supporting. Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 3 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend. Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy. Tier I only applies to the following markets: South and North Houston; Brazos Valley and East Texas. Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is not included.
The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $55.00. Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.
Float RN II A: Employee agrees to be assigned to Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and either North or South Houston Market. Employees will be required to float between all the facilities included in the tier that individual commits to supporting. Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 2 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend. Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy.
The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $57.00. Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.
Float RN II B: Employees agree to be assigned to Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and either the North or South Houston market. Employees will be required to float between all the facilities included in the tier that individual commits to supportingMust be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 3 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend. Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy.
The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $60.00. Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.
Float RN III A: Employee (with a minimum of a 2 hour notice) will agree to float to any facility within the Texas division. Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 2 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend. Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy.
The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $65.00. Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.
Float RN III B: Employees (with a minimum of a 2 hour notice) will agree to float to any facility within the Texas division. Must be available to be scheduled for a minimum of 3 shifts every week and available to be scheduled a Saturday and Sunday shift every other weekend. Must be available to be scheduled for two major holidays per policy.
The rate of pay for this level of commitment is $70.00. Mileage reimbursement and applicable differentials will apply if eligible.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Nursing, ADN
- Bachelors in Nursing Preferred, BSN
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
- BLS with skills demonstration
- Additional certifications may be required depending on specialty and/or location
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) year of RN experience working in an acute care facility
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective Communication
- Knowledge of the principles and skills of the nursing process to provide patient care and treatment.
- Critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Basic Computer skills
