Position Summary
The Building Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring standards of cleaning are met, performing custodial quality checks, training new employees on proper custodial procedures, and general maintenance of facilities, event set-up.
This role pays an hourly rate of $16.50-$18.50.

This position will remain open until December 31, 2025.
About the Venue
The Fort Smith Convention Center offers 116,800 square feet of usable, infinitely-flexible event space including 40,000 sq. ft. Exhibit Hall, 8 Meeting Rooms and over 3,000 sq. ft. of pre-function space. The Convention Center also boasts a 1,331-seat a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center just steps from historic downtown Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness throughout the venue.
- Ability to vacuum, clean restrooms, wipe surfaces, change trash cans, and other cleaning functions as assigned.
- Coordinate and supervise post-cleans and day-to-day housekeeping crew.
- Manage event support staff during events.
- Assist with the daily maintenance operations of the building.
- Organize all storage rooms to be in neat and working order.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment (vacuums, scrubbers, extractors, etc).
- Assist Operations Manager with set-ups, teardowns, and changeover of events.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-3 years of experience with facility coordination and direct employee supervision.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with ability to function in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to work beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must have experience with power and hand tools.
- Required to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 40 lbs unaided.
