Responsibilities
Come join the Verus team as a summer intern! Our interns work with many different people to learn and gain hands-on experience in actuarial work and data. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in starting their career. We will be hiring an intern to learn and grow in a cohort environment.
Interns are responsible for performing Actuarial related support duties while gaining valuable real-world experience which can be utilized both personally and professionally. Resume builder and steppingstone to a future career in the Insurance Industry.
- Assist with improving automation and building efficiencies to existing tasks.
- Analyze internal and external data.
- Assist with projects.
- Assist with actuarial analysis (pricing and reserving work).
Qualifications
- Current college student (and/or recent graduate) working towards a degree program in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to work collaboratively and embrace innovative ideas and processes.
- Must be technology focused and proficient in the use of a computer and its applications.
- Passing of one actuarial exam preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel and SQL preferred.
- Familiarity with basic insurance concepts through coursework preferred.
