Responsibilities
Carolina Casualty’s internship program immerses you in transportation insurance business, provides you with the opportunity to showcase and hone your skills, enhances your business knowledge and professional growth, encourages networking and offers assignments/projects in specific areas of study.
Carolina Casualty seeks creative, curious, innovative and entrepreneurial candidates for its internship and development program. The selected candidates will work hand-in-hand with the company’s senior leaders across a wide range insurance operations, claims and underwriting initiatives.
Candidate must work out of the Jacksonville, FL office.

Compensation
The Carolina Casualty internship and development program offers very competitive pay rates as well as schedule flexibility. This position is a non-exempt, overtime-eligible position.
CCI Experience
The program was developed to provide interns with a valuable, rewarding experience that connects the knowledge from academics with the reality of today’s insurance careers. CCI internship includes an introduction to Carolina Casualty and the W. R. Berkley Corporation. Interns then receive training about Carolina Casualty’s products, distribution channel and company-specific business processes that will lay the groundwork for an intern’s comprehensive learning experience. Technical training, along with sessions focused on innovation, creativity, risk taking and entrepreneurial drive will be held regularly for all program interns. Each intern will gain experience in business areas within Carolina Casualty such as Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Operations, and Finance/Actuarial and manage project responsibilities specific to those departments.
Additional Experience
The Carolina Casualty internship and development program will include social activities aimed at building strong networking relationships with fellow interns and Carolina Casualty staff. Activities may include management sessions, team-building, and volunteer/community service opportunities.
Qualifications
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance (or other applicable major) preferred.
- A rising Senior is preferred
- GPA of 3.0 and above required
- Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career related work experience within the industry
- Career Interest in Insurance
- Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
