Frequently asked questions

Bowling Green shows a steady need for Registered Occupational Therapists due to its skilled nursing facility network and aging population. While not as saturated as larger metro areas, the city offers balanced competition with opportunities for therapists seeking a community-focused practice within Ohio's healthcare landscape.

Licensed Occupational Therapists in Ohio must hold a valid state license, but familiarity with regulations tied to skilled nursing facilities and programs like OBRA is highly regarded. Certifications enhancing clinical supervision skills or knowledge of long-term acute care add value within Bowling Green’s healthcare employers.

Besides NBCOT certification, proficiency in clinical documentation, case management, and patient-centered treatment planning is crucial. Therapists should also cultivate strong supervisory abilities for overseeing assistants and rehab techs, alongside understanding varying reimbursement models relevant to occupational therapy services.

Besides direct therapy, tasks include supervising certified OT assistants, managing caseload documentation, developing discharge plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and continually updating clinical skills through education also form essential parts of the workday.

Reliant Rehabilitation fosters growth through its clinical ladder, leadership training, and continuing education. Therapists can evolve into clinical specialists, supervisors, or managers while benefiting from tuition loan repayment and mentorship programs, promoting both clinical and administrative career development.

Reliant provides structured protocols, ongoing training from clinical experts, and systems designed to ensure regulatory compliance and effective therapy delivery. Their approach empowers therapists with tools and guidance to optimize patient outcomes while adhering to state and federal occupational therapy standards.

Reliant combines competitive pay with comprehensive benefits like PTO buy-back, a 401(k) employer match, and company-sponsored continuing education. Their therapist-led management culture and maternity support program further create a supportive environment uncommon among local rehab therapy providers.

Entry-level Registered Occupational Therapists in Bowling Green typically earn between $65,000 and $75,000 annually, with seasoned clinicians reaching upwards of $90,000. Reliant Rehabilitation offers competitive pay that reflects experience, certifications, and clinical leadership roles within the skilled nursing facility sector.

Reliant stands out due to its expansive presence across 38+ states, therapist-run leadership, and commitment to internal promotion. The company’s focus on professional development, flexible scheduling, and strong clinical support appeals to occupational therapists aiming for long-term career growth.

Candidates must hold a degree from an ACOTE-accredited program, a valid NBCOT certification, and an applicable state license. Computer literacy for clinical documentation and a commitment to ongoing education are also essential to thrive in Reliant’s therapy teams.
