Frequently asked questions

While the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential is essential, Cleveland employers often value additional certifications like CPR, first aid, or specialized training in geriatric care, especially for roles in skilled nursing settings. These enhance a candidate’s ability to meet diverse patient needs and improve job prospects locally.

A COTA in long-term care focuses on supporting older adults with everyday living skills, often working closely with interdisciplinary teams in a stable environment. Unlike fast-paced hospital settings, this role emphasizes steady patient relationships and household-style therapy, allowing for more personalized, consistent care.

Yes, working one weekend day per week is standard for this full-time COTA position at HealthPRO Heritage. This schedule supports balanced patient coverage while allowing therapists to maintain predictable work-life rhythms within a supportive, mission-driven workplace.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in Cleveland typically earn between $28 and $35 per hour, depending on experience. This range aligns well with the skilled nursing sector's competitive pay, reflecting both the region’s cost of living and HealthPRO Heritage’s commitment to fair compensation.
