Job Summary
Job Summary: As the Executive Director of NYREACH, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in NYREACH’s fundraising efforts, management of administrative day to day operations, program oversight and hiring/managing a capable staff who, along with the ED, will carry out the mission and vision of the organization to profound success. The ideal ED will have expertise or significant experience researching, developing and maintaining programs in community health and workforce development; be well versed in key areas of healthcare operations; have experience applying for and managing grant/funding opportunities through private or gov’t contracts; and have experience managing and mobilizing a staff toward success while effectively reporting to a Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance the organization's mission, ensuring alignment with core values, long-term goals, and community impact.
Fundraising & Financial Oversight
- Drive fundraising efforts including donor cultivation, grant writing, and partnership development; oversee the organization’s financial health, budgeting, and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
- Oversee awarded contracts/grants especially where the organization is required to report progress and deliverables for payment to private and government bodies.
Board Engagement & Governance
- Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to support governance, report on organizational performance, and implement board-approved initiatives.
Program & Operations Management
- Develop and implement non-profit programs, ensure services are effective, mission-aligned, and responsive to community needs; manage day-to-day operations and staff performance.
Community & Stakeholder Relations
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate, building strong relationships with community partners, funders, government agencies, and the media to elevate the organization's visibility and impact.
- Possess key experience fostering partnerships within the non-profit and healthcare space.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Possess extensive knowledge in healthcare, non-profit operations, community health and community health initiatives, Social Determinant of Health intervention, and insurance (especially current movements in Medicaid reform in New York through the 1115 Waiver)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree or Higher
- Nonprofit management experience (10+ years)
- Ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
- Demonstrated fundraising and grant writing experience; experience building new revenue streams for any type of organization
- Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community
- Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation
- Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting
- Strong written and oral communication skills and public speaking ability; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
