Texas requires a valid Physical Therapy Assistant state license for practice. Additionally, familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid billing procedures, common in Houston’s skilled nursing facilities, can enhance employability and compliance.

Physical therapist assistants often coordinate patient care under supervision, manage documentation, and adapt treatments to individual progress. Navigating infection control protocols and maintaining clear communication with patients and staff are key challenges in this role.
