Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers quality therapy services to patients by implementing treatment in accordance with the established treatment plan to achieve goals to maximize functional outcomes in an IP and OP setting. The PTA provides care at the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist and actively participates in discharge planning. The PTA is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.
Services are delivered within the framework of an interdisciplinary team approach, including the patient and significant others. These services are delivered in compliance with CommonSpirit, St. Joseph's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree; Major in Kinesiology/Applied Science or other Physical Therapy related field
- Licensed by the State of Texas- Physical Therapist Assistant
- BLS CPR certified, American Heart Association
Minimum Experience:
None
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective Communication
- Knowledge of the principles and skills of the clinical process to provide patient care and treatment.
- Critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Basic Computer skills
