Position Summary:
Covenant Health’s Manager of Labor Management provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for labor management initiatives across the health system. This role partners with hospital executives and corporate leaders to optimize workforce utilization, control labor costs, and ensure compliance with organizational standards. By setting measurable productivity goals and directing team activities to achieve those goals, this role will identify opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities include implementing system-wide labor strategies, monitoring key performance indicators, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis, training, and consistent best practices across all hospitals.

Responsibilities
Productivity Management & Analysis
- Advises health system, hospital, and department leaders on implementing labor management strategies.
- Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), identifies improvement opportunities, and recommends corrective actions.
- Leads system-wide initiatives for labor management, premium pay, contract labor, and overall labor expense control.
- Delivers training to hospital and corporate leadership on productivity, flexible staffing, and labor management best practices.
Systems & Data Integrity
- Ensures accuracy and integrity of labor management and productivity data across all systems.
- Delivers timely, reliable reporting to enable informed, data-driven decisions.
- Contributes to projects focused on developing and enhancing systems, processes, reporting, and technologies within labor management.
- Implements quality control measures to improve productivity and operational performance.
- Validates volume forecasts, manages target requirements, aligns stakeholder needs, and optimizes resource utilization.
Collaboration and Strategic Alignment
- Collaborates with hospital and nursing leadership to identify, quantify, and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements that enhance patient care and resource utilization.
- Supports hospital and system-wide budget planning by aligning variable and fixed FTE targets with operational goals.
- Provides regular productivity performance updates to hospital and corporate leadership.
Other Duties
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Minimum Experience:
Four (4) years of proven labor management experience with two (2) year in healthcare.
