Join CHI St. Alexius as a Full-Time Mental Health Tech!
The Mental Health Tech provide quality direct patient care and maintain a therapeutic, safe, and supportive environment for our patients. You'll assist patients in developing coping skills, promoting self-expression, and taking responsibility for their well-being.
What You'll Do:
- Support patients in a trauma-informed care atmosphere.
- Provide feedback and positive reinforcement for behavioral change.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain a secure environment.
- Perform basic nursing tasks (vitals, specimen collection, ADLs).
- Assist with physical restraints/seclusion using trauma-informed care.
- Facilitate supportive and psycho-educational activities.
- Communicate effectively with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Utilize CPI techniques to de-escalate situations.
- Document objective observations of patient behavior and mental status.
- Complete assigned tasks, demonstrating professionalism and adherence to dress code.
- Bachelors Degree or Mental Health Tech Certification from either American Medical Certification Association or National Career
- Must be listed on the Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Department of Health at the time of hire or within 90 days of employment. Will obtain the following within six (6) months of employment:
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification
- Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting – APS- IA & NE
- First Aid – PRTF only
