CHI St. Alexius is looking for a PRN Mental Health Tech to join the team!

What you'll do:
- Be a Patient Advocate: Help patients develop individuality and healthy self-expression through a trauma-informed approach.
- Provide Direct Support: Assist patients in acknowledging their patterns, provide positive reinforcement, and consistently apply program guidelines.
- Ensure Safety & Well-being: Maintain a secure environment, provide emergency care, and perform basic nursing tasks (e.g., vitals, specimen collection, ADLs) as needed.
- Skillfully Manage Crises: Utilize Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) techniques to de-escalate situations and promote positive outcomes.
- Facilitate Growth: Lead supportive and psycho-educational activities to help patients develop social skills and navigate relationships.
- Observe & Document: Accurately document patient behaviors, program involvement, and mental status.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Work effectively with the interdisciplinary team, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to a harmonious environment.
- Model Professionalism: Represent yourself in a professional manner, adhering to dress code and arriving on time.
- Bachelors Degree or Mental Health Tech Certification from either
- American Medical Certification Association or National Career
- Certification Board. PRTF must be 21 years or older.
