Role Overview
Sodexo is seeking an experienced HSE Director to support a major manufacturing client across 15 locations. In this role, you will champion a strong safety culture, shape long-term HSE strategy, and lead the development and implementation of effective Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems. You will partner closely with operations teams to provide expert leadership, technical guidance, and proactive insight into risk reduction and compliance. Working alongside the VP of QHSE, you will help resource, transform, and embed HSE excellence into Sodexo’s business processes. This role also collaborates with HSE Directors, Operations leadership, Facilities Directors, Finance, HR, Sourcing, and Sales to ensure alignment and consistent execution of HSE initiatives. The ideal candidate brings the ability to influence leaders at all levels, strengthen organizational resilience, and continually advance regulatory compliance and safety performance across a diverse, multi-site environment.

What You'll Do
- Lead the development and execution of HSE strategies, annual targets, and objectives to drive continuous improvement across all locations.
Provide expert guidance on leading and lagging indicators, translating data and trends into actionable insights that strengthen the HSE management system.
Manage incident investigation and root-cause analysis programs, ensuring effective coaching, corrective actions, and organizational learning.
Collaborate closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal partners to enhance compliance, improve performance, and support Sodexo’s requirements.
Conduct and maintain Risk and Opportunity Assessments, driving ownership and consistent implementation across all areas of responsibility.
Deliver effective HSE training and communication to multiple operations teams, cultivating a strong and sustainable safety culture.
Benchmark industry best practices and champion process improvements that simplify systems and enhance organizational efficiency.

What You Bring
- Recognized degree in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent professional certifications; CSP or CHMM preferred.
10–15 years of experience leading HSE programs across multi-site environments within manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, facilities, or related industries.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop large teams while influencing leaders across multiple functions and locations.
Advanced working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with demonstrated experience implementing management systems.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to proactively manage risk and drive decision-making.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to manage complex programs and competing priorities.
Ability to travel up to 50% to support client locations and ensure consistent HSE oversight and performance.
