Job Summary and Responsibilities
Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care Instructs, motivates and Assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre‐ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities. Observes patients during treatments, Assesses, and compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress
and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist; may communicate updates to physicians
Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs.
Job Requirements
- Associate’s Degree from an approved program for Physical Therapist Assistants
- Current Texas State Licensure (PTA)
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered
