Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH) is a full service, 25-bed, critical access, not-for-profit, Planetree-Certified hospital where person-centered care is a priority. CMH has proudly served the healthcare needs of the community for over a century. Combined, CMH and clinics employ over 700 caregivers which includes a diverse professional medical staff of more than 60 physicians and advance practice professionals including surgical, non-surgical and primary care specialties. It has a fully integrated electronic medical records system and utilizes the latest diagnostic tools and technology.CMH is located in beautiful Astoria, Oregon, on the north Oregon coast, just 90 minutes from Portland. Astoria is an historic, vibrant community with thriving theater, arts and culinary scenes. Function/Duties of Position
The appointee shall provide services as a General Urologist at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, OR. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the background, focus, and drive to excel, as well as the ability to provide excellent clinical care to patients at a community hospital.The appointee is expected to provide an outstanding level of professional performance in quality of clinical care. Professional performance is delivered in a manner that is compliant with the regulation and guidelines of all relevant regulating bodies (i.e. DNV, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, OHSU IRB, NIH and all other state, federal, and institutional regulatory guidelines.) The appointee treats all patients, research subjects, trainees and co-workers with dignity and respect.OHSU is a teaching facility and while this candidate will not have direct responsibilities teaching medical students and residents in the clinical setting there may be opportunities to give lectures during the course of the year and participate in resident conferences. Opportunities for medical student, resident, or fellow education may be future possibilities. The appointee may maintain a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding for the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. They may engage in public service through consultative activities with OHSU and non-University groups as approved by the Chair. As the only academic medical center in the state of Oregon, OHSU provides a full spectrum of care to a large and diverse population. OHSU is home to numerous specialized research centers and institutes and offers excellent opportunities for multidisciplinary research, with a history of innovative and collaborative studies. There may be opportunities to collaborate with other department faculty on research projects that may be of interest, although such activities are not expected of Clinical Associates and are voluntary.All assignments are made by the Chair in furtherance of the University’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in medicine (MD) and postdoctoral training
- Board certified/board-eligible Urologist
- Current license and certification with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners, Drug Enforcement Association certification, and CPR/PALS certification
- Satisfactory record of accomplishment in ALL of the following categories: teaching, scholarship and service
- Trained and experienced in management of patients with urologic conditions to include utilization of minimally invasive, robotic and open surgical techniques
