Looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and focused individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as, excels in time management, multi-tasking, and a faster paced environment. This employee will need to be able to manage all front desk operations including but not limited to phones, scheduling, insurance verifications, faxing/scanning, quality assurance, cleaning/sanitizing, assisting with laundry, and patient aide work as appropriate.
Location: 3770 8th St SW Suites G & I, Altoona, IA 50009
Position Type: Full Time
Schedule: between 6:45am and 5:00 pm
Compensation: Hourly Rate - $18.00 - $20.00/hour based on experience

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center, we want them to have an exceptional experience – starting at the front desk. That’s where you come in. As a patient service specialist, you’ll manage both the patient side and business side of our center. - Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
- Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
- Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
- Regular communication with parties such as therapists, insurance companies, attorney offices, translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team

- High School Diploma or GED required

- Insurance Verification Experience
- Health Care Experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and patients
- Ability to multi-task phone, computer, and in-person interactions
- Ability to use computer scheduling software (with appropriate training)
- Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written direction
- Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
- Appropriate manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key) and mouse use throughout a work day/shift
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics
- Ability to carry office supplies up to 10lbs
