The Respite worker provides families of children with special healthcare needs relief from their responsibilities by providing one-to-one direct care for their child within or outside the home, and by implementing a safety and service plan. All duties will vary depending on the specific needs of each child. Parent/caretaker will provide all training specific to their child. The safety plan must be reviewed and implemented when necessary. Responsibilities
- Provide ON CALL safe one to one direct care per the plan for children with special health care needs as directed by parents/caretakers.
- Provide socialization opportunities within home and/or outside of home when appropriate.
- Perform all necessary self-care tasks as needed by the individual supported.
- Provide transportation to and from all social activities only as approved by parent/caretaker.
- Provide required documentation to coordinator in a timely manner
Qualifications
- 18+ years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License & Good Driving Record
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Per State regulations, qualifications determined by individual family
