Overview

Monitors and maintains Operating room Inventory and related duties.

Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees. Interacts professionally, courteously, and appropriately with patients, visitors and other employees. Behaves in a manner consistent with maintaining and furthering a positive public perception of BronxCare Health System and its employees.

- Contributes to and participates in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department. Contribution and participation includes data collection, analysis, implementation of and compliance with risk management and claims activities, support of and participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams, consistent adherence to the specific rules and regulations of the BronxCare Health System (a) Safety and Security Policies, (b) Risk Management: Incident and Occurrence Reporting, (c) Infection Control Policies and Procedures and (d) Patient and Customer Service.

- Order daily supplies using the Keane System.

- Establish and maintain an accurate inventory control system for all storage areas in the department.

- Perform random counts of inventory to department needs.

- Receive daily deliveries and restock the stockroom supply closets, Code room and Patient exam rooms.

- Organize and maintain the stockroom according to accepted infection control practice.

- Oversee Assistant Coordinators.

- Develop prevention maintenance schedule with Biomed.

- Perform daily rounds with ED Nursing Patient Care Manager to identify problems and supplies needed.

- Work closely with Biomed to identify and repair broken equipment.

- Develop ordering Par levels

- Rotate supply inventory to minimize expired stock.

- Maintain supply stockroom in an orderly, neat and organized fashion.

- Recommend inventory control improvements.

- Assist in the annual physical inventory of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

- One (1) year experience in Inventory Management

- Knowledgeable concerning inventory requirements at all divisions.

- Good Customer Service skills

- Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related field

- Computer literate
