In Redding, CA, Recovery Room nurses collaborate closely with surgical teams, emphasizing patient stabilization after surgery, a distinct skill set from emergency interventions.

Holding current ACLS and BLS certifications is essential, with CCRN status highly valued for critical care expertise. California facilities like Shasta Regional often prefer nurses with PALS for pediatric ORs. These credentials boost competency and demonstrate readiness for complex post-surgical nursing challenges.

Responsibilities include continuous patient assessment, managing hemodynamic monitoring, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and guiding staff to uphold post-op care standards. The role demands vigilance during the critical recovery phase to ensure patient safety and smooth transition from surgery to ward.

Prime Healthcare’s package includes flexible PTO, 401k options, and tuition reimbursement, tailored to individual needs. Their focus on community and quality care fosters a supportive culture, differentiating them from typical hospital employers by blending competitive pay with comprehensive wellness incentives.

Redding's status as a hub for acute care with a 226-bed facility increases demand for skilled Recovery Room RNs. Its recognition for top cardiovascular and stroke care attracts complex surgical cases, heightening the need for specialized post-op nursing talent in this Northern California region.

Registered Nurses in the Recovery Room at Shasta Regional Medical Center typically earn between $41.62 and $68.40 per hour. Starting pay depends on experience, certifications, and education, reflecting competitive standards for nursing professionals in Redding’s healthcare sector.

Prime Healthcare emphasizes compassion, quality, and community in every patient interaction. Recovery Room RNs embody these principles by delivering attentive, respectful post-op care, supporting family communication, and upholding high safety standards, reinforcing the hospital’s mission-driven environment.

Prime Healthcare supports professional growth through in-services and performance improvement programs. Recovery Room nurses can pursue advanced certifications like CCRN or leadership roles within surgical services, benefiting from the hospital’s commitment to education and clinical excellence.

Given Redding’s spread-out geography, commute times can vary. Many nurses find access via local roads manageable, but traffic during shift changes can affect travel. Proximity to the hospital influences job satisfaction, making location a key factor for Recovery Room RN applicants.

Redding offers nursing education through nearby colleges and health programs focusing on perioperative care. Engaging with local workshops on ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, as well as clinical rotations at Shasta Regional, provides practical preparation tailored to regional healthcare demands.
