Position Summary:
A registered nurse who directs and coordinates administrative activities on a specified tour of duty; referring patient care problems to appropriate nursing staff member and/or non-nursing problems to the appropriate department head.

Responsibilities
- Reviews staffing each shift for each unit.
- Assists charge nurse to assure adequate staffing when there is a problem.
- Makes rounds and provides managerial presence.
- Assists new personnel and acts as a resource to the nursing staff.
- Assists with procedures when staff has difficulty.
- Acts as advocate to find resources such as supplies as needed.
- Listens to staff problems and effectively resolves conflict as necessary.
- Responds to safety codes when necessary.
- Provides information to nurse managers regarding quality and employee problems.
- Resolves patient/family complaints when necessary.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience
Three (3) years of clinical experience.
Licensure Requirement
Current Tennessee RN license. CPR required.
