The role involves hands-on therapy sessions tailored to skilled nursing facility residents, ensuring adherence to state regulations and facility protocols, all while fostering patient progress in functional mobility.

Holding a valid Kansas state physical therapy assistant license is essential. Additionally, certifications in CPR and continuing education related to geriatric care or SNF-specific protocols enhance employability, reflecting regional compliance and patient population needs within Wakefield’s skilled nursing environments.

PTAs can progress by advancing clinical skills, pursuing specialized certifications, or transitioning into management roles such as clinical leadership. Companies like Reliant Rehabilitation promote internal development, offering pathways to leadership while expanding expertise in complex patient care within rehab therapy.

Reliant Rehabilitation offers a therapist-led culture emphasizing career advancement through continuing education and leadership ladders. Their broad network across 38+ states, plus tailored support systems, provide PTAs personalized growth avenues and a strong clinical community unmatched by many competitors.

Reliant equips PTAs with proven protocols and ongoing training from expert clinicians, ensuring adherence to state/federal regulations. Licensed PTs handle evaluations, complex clinical decision-making, and developing care strategies, making PTAs essential collaborators rather than independent clinicians.

Reliant provides company-sponsored courses tailored to enhance clinical expertise, compliance knowledge, and leadership skills. These education programs support PTAs in staying current with therapy advancements, regulatory updates, and specialized care techniques relevant to skilled nursing and long-term acute care.
