Responsibilities
- Partners with other Engineers, Project Managers and/or Superientdents to coordinate and distribute all project information
- Works with the project team to ensure all contract documents, including logs are up to date in real time
- Ensures status reports on RFIs, submittals and other documents are prepared and presented
- Creates PCIs in CMiC, issues RFQs and reviews quotes from trades, assists in preparation of ATP and OCOS
- Participates in reviewing scopes of work for bid packages
- Maintains the Material Equipment Status Report
- Develops the submittal register
- Prepares change management reports, estimates and other cost report documents
- Conducts and manages quality control activities; ensures activities are documented properly and corrective action occurs, when necessary
- Reviews contractors' startup documents (safety startup submittals, contract compliance, etc.)
- Works with Lead Superintendent for trade contractor responsibilities throughout project
- Enforces Gilbane’s high safety standards
- Manages and performs weekly safety inspections
- Participates in Schedule Updates and Pull Plans
- Works collaboratively with field team to ensure milestone dates are met
- Coordinates and manages general conditions work and project logistics
- Communicates with Trade Contractors and AE on field and QAQC related questions
- Prepares and contributes to daily reports
- Provides input and suggestions for trade contractor weekly meetings
- Communicates with Site Services/ Next150, orders material, and understands workforce needs, ensures clean jobsite
- Assists with Time and Materials (T&M) process
- Participates in stretch and flex, daily huddle, and reviews pre-task plans
- May be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positions
- Promotes organizational change initiatives, suggests new ideas, and continuously adapts to work within new structures and processes
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 1-2 years of experience or internships with a construction organization
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Some knowledge of commercial/institutional construction project
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
- Knowledge of Procore
- Good capabilities in Microsoft Office programs
- Strong technical and communication skills are critical
- OSHA 30 hour certification required
- First Aid, CPR Trained
- Construction-document and drawing literate
- Ability to work in a team environment
