WHAT OUR COOKS DO
The Cook is responsible for preparing food items over hot equipment and maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness according to the specifications provided by management. This position focuses on delighting customers by preparing food in a timely manner and ensuring quality product.
A COOK’S SHIFT
- Greet guests in a fun and inviting manner!
- Perform opening and closing procedures related to the assigned Food & Beverage location and as directed by team leads and shift supervisors/managers.
- Plans and prepares food based on the core menu manual specifications to ensure consistent quality product for our customers. May be responsible for preparing special meals in accordance with catering needs and the direction of center management.
- Observes proper use of all cooking and preparation equipment to not cause harm to themselves or their co-workers.
- Performs food preparation when necessary, such as chopping, slicing, dicing, mixing, etc.
- Practices safety procedures when working with and around sharp objects, including knives and slicers.
- Always practice safe and proper use of equipment’s, including the use of PPE
- Ensures food products are being delivered according to core menu specifications, utilizing recipes and paying close attention to plate presentation guidelines.
- Responsible for proper expediting of food items working efficiently to achieve maximum productivity.
- Proficiently performs duties on both hot and cold lines as well as duties involving food preparation.
- Readily assists colleagues with miscellaneous duties to prevent delays in the customer service experience
WHAT IT TAKES
Cooks possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals (customers, vendors, and employees) and solid communication skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Optional)
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to great guest service.
1+ year of previous culinary work experience at a food service or restaurant preferred but not required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with California Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all state, local, and company food preparation and serving regulations
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to use kitchen equipment and accessories in a safe and effective manner
- Ability to keep the kitchen areas neat and organized
- Ability to safely utilize knives and other food preparation as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bed, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more
This role will be mased in one or more food stall and/or restaurant locations throughout the park, with exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments
Frequent exposure to variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, and other weather conditions
Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environments
