Job Overview
The Lead Physician Liaison leads and oversees the physician liaison team to ensure strategic outreach, referral development, and relationship management across the region. This role is responsible for developing outreach strategies, analyzing referral trends, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The lead collaborates with internal stakeholders and external providers to enhance referral pipelines and improve physician satisfaction
This position will have between 12-15 direct reports and will require an estimate of 75% regional travel. Of the 75% travel estimated 50% would be overnight.
This position will support our East Region, which includes facilities in Boston, Erie, Greenville, Lexington, New England and Philadelphia. Candidates may be based anywhere within this region.
Responsibilities
- Leads and supervises the Physician Liaison team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance oversight.
- Develops and executes Physician Liaison monitoring of productivity and effectiveness.
- Oversees CRM utilization in accordance with developed standards and ensures accurate tracking of referral activity and provider engagement.
- Develop and implement continuing education opportunities that allow the Physician Liaison team the opportunity to routinely participate in skill building activities.
- Routinely conduct field ride-a-longs with Physician Liaison team to evaluate performance and provide coaching support.
- Develops and implements strategic outreach plans to grow and retain referral relationships.
- Analyzes referral data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications and corporate teams to align outreach strategies with broader system wide initiatives.
- Evaluates site capacity and operational readiness for growth and incorporates findings into outreach strategies.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications on the development of provider facing collateral materials.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with patient access, medical staff, and other departments to improve referral processes.
- Serves as the primary point of contact between the Physician Liaison team and local site stakeholders and Boards of Governors.
- Develops and presents regular performance reports for corporate leadership.
- Supervises the process between referring providers and Shriners Children’s clinical teams to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution.
- Identifies barriers and engages with necessary stakeholders optimize the referral loop process and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
- Supervises the process for record keeping of referring physician complaints/issues and works with appropriate staff/departments to ensure corrective action is taken.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years experience in healthcare sales, marketing, or physician relations
