NeuroTrauma ICU at Emanual was remodeled in 2013. It is a 28,000 square foot, 24-bed unit that provides state-of-the-art care and achieves some of the highest success rates for ICUs in the United States. We admit patients as a nationally recognized Level One Trauma Center, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and as a respiratory failure & ECMO specialty center. We also admit and care for a large and variable medical-surgical critical care population. These patients are at high risk of developing life-threatening complications as a result of multiple trauma, neuro trauma, cardiovascular surgery, complex general surgery, neurosurgery, respiratory failure, and/or complicated medical processes. We have also been the primary COVID ICU at Emanuel since 2020.
- Our highly skilled and professional team of critical care nurses works in a collaborative practice environment with a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and with a "can do, will do and does" attitude.
- Nurses working in this environment have opportunities for advanced training in Trauma Resuscitation, ECMO, Stroke Response, Critical Care Transport, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy.
Responsibilities
Responsible for patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse. The RN Staff Nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for Legacy Health System including those for patient assessment and transfer.
Qualifications
Education:
As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
Experience:
One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized.
This NTICU opening requires 2 years of general ICU experience or 1 year of trauma/neuro ICU focused experience.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure
- Current applicable state RN license required.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Pay Range
