Nurse Educator – Critical Care/ICU

In this dynamic RN role, you’ll be the driving force behind clinical education, staff development, and professional growth within our Critical Care/ICU Department. You’ll guide nurses toward practice excellence, strengthen our patient-care culture, and play a vital part in creating the safest, highest-quality care environment possible.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the planning, research, coordination, and evaluation of education and professional development programs—aligned with CHI Health’s nursing vision and campus goals.

  • Serve as a clinical expert, mentor, change agent, and trusted leader for our nursing teams.

  • Partner with organizational, divisional, and system leaders to support initiatives that enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.

  • Bring cutting-edge, evidence-based research into the real world—translating findings into meaningful, measurable improvements in care.

  • Provide clinical insight and leadership for quality improvement projects throughout Critical Care.

  • Shape the full journey of nursing professional development, including onboarding, orientation, nurse residency, fellowships, competency processes, and preceptor/mentor programs.

  • Create and refine educational resources using adult-learning principles, organizational development strategies, and system-wide standards.

Work Agreement

  • FTE Status - 1.0, 80 hours biweekly
  • Shift Type - Days Monday - Friday

Job Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

Required:

  • BSN in Nursing (with the commitment to complete your MSN within five years of your start date — we’ll cheer you on the whole way).

  • Active, unencumbered RN compact multistate license eligible for practice in North Dakota.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • At least three years of relevant nursing experience—the kind that gives you both clinical confidence and real-world perspective.

Preferred:

  • MSN with a focus in Education — if you love the academic side of nursing, we love you already.

  • Specialty nursing certification in your clinical area—because you take excellence seriously.
