Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will be a compassionate and integral part of our rehabilitation team, empowering patients to regain independence and enhance their quality of life.
Every day, you will expertly implement Occupational Therapist-developed treatment plans for diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.). You'll conduct interventions, provide motivating care, meticulously document progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong OT principles, excellent communication, and a passion for patient empowerment. Your flexibility, organization, and motivating team-player approach are paramount.
- Administers appropriate treatments to patients at the direction of the supervising Occupational Therapist; demonstrates knowledge and skill in the use of therapeutic exercise and activities, manual techniques, transfers, activities of daily living, modalities, and rehabilitation equipment.
- Instructs and supervises patient care rehabilitation technicians, and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous and consistent manner.
- Maintains timely and accurate medical records; records legibly in patient charts; completes reports in an organized, thorough and timely manner.
- Fosters communication with patients and families, other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, and other hospital personnel to achieve goals and establish department support; attends and provides quality input during multidisciplinary rounds and departmental meetings.
- Provides patient and family education; includes information on outside resources to meet the patient's specific needs.
- Promotes health care outcomes in concert with currently accepted clinical practice guidelines and established clinical pathways. Identifies poor outcomes/data for referral for performance improvement.

- Associates Other Occupational Therapy or other Occupational Therapy related field, upon hire and
- Occupational Therapy Assistant: TX, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days and
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, within 90 Days
- 1-2 years of clinical experience
