Job Summary and Responsibilities
Incorporates knowledge of the nursing process and the professional standards of nursing in daily practice. Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions. Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs, unique to the patient.
- Diagnostic and patient monitoring (detection and recognition of acute changes and escalation or concerns/critical results).
- Administration and monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens (starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown and following policies in relation to safety measures).
- Effective management of rapidly changing situations (identifying, assessing and anticipating needs).
- Organization and work rule competencies (prioritizing, coordination and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner).
- Helping Role (consistently contribute to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
- Teaching-Coaching Function (assess and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, effectively explains a patient’s condition and their interpretation of his or her illness.
- Ensuring the quality of health care/organization practices (understands and incorporates Evidence-Based Practice guidelines into their practices, uses hospital resources effectively, demonstrates the ability to use, maintain and troubleshoot patient equipment and communicates effectively and timely with physicians regarding care needs, status changes and questions regarding treatment plans.
- Recognizes and performs duties which are needed even when not directly assigned.

Job Requirements
Required Education & Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Nursing Program
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/Equivalent or Higher
Required Licensure & Certifications:
- Registered Nurse License
- American Heart Association BLS
Preferred Licensure & Certifications:
- American Heart Association ACLS
- American Heart Association PALS
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficient in necessary nursing procedures (Including medication administration, wound care, ECG interpretation (basic), and patient assessment).
- Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members, and to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
