Job Description
We expect our guests to have fun in the sun. But safety is always number one! The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all of our guests at the Pools and Waterslides. Lifeguards will maintain a diligent watch over families and children, enforcing rules with the right balance of firmness and politeness. Lifeguards need to be ready at all times to perform life-saving functions. Lifeguards may also perform all of the functions and responsibilities of Pool Attendants as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the pool area; acts as immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patron’s events of emergency.
- Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe pool area.
- Ensure that all pool equipment is stored safely and that any lost items are kept in a safe place
- Handles or refers other problems and situations as they arise within the pool to the Manager.
- Maintains continuous observation of pool and surrounding areas to ensure apparent safety hazards are reported and corrected promptly.
- Attend department meetings as scheduled along with department staff
- Ensuring that all opening and closing duties are completed
- Perform first aid and CPR according to the demands of adverse situations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Tread water without using arms for 1 minute
- Swim distance using front crawl (freestyle) or breaststroke without resting: 100 yards
- Previous lifeguard experience preferred
- Candidate must be able to handle extreme weather outdoors and work in various weather conditions.
Pay: $18/hour. The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience.
