The demand reflects the region’s expanding healthcare facilities, meaning applicants with hospital pharmacy experience often find favorable hiring prospects locally.

Pharmacists must hold a current Texas state registered pharmacist license to legally practice in Dallas-area hospitals. Additionally, maintaining BLS certification within six months of hire is required, aligning with local regulatory standards and hospital protocols.

Beyond medication preparation, a proficient pharmacist must assess drug interactions, tailor therapies to patient-specific factors, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. Clinical judgment in adjusting dosages and vigilant monitoring of side effects are pivotal skills.

In acute care environments like hospitals, pharmacists engage heavily in clinical decision-making, medication therapy management, and coordination with medical staff, contrasting the primarily dispensing-focused and customer-service tasks typical in retail pharmacy settings.

Per diem pharmacists in Mesquite, TX, typically earn between $65 and $85 per hour, depending on experience and shift variability. The flexible schedule combined with competitive pay reflects regional demand and the specialized nature of inpatient pharmacy roles.

Prime Healthcare delivers competitive compensation, medical insurance, a 401k plan, and sick leave accrual, alongside a dynamic inpatient setting. Their per diem model provides flexibility, appealing to pharmacists seeking variable hours within a supportive hospital network.

Prime Healthcare’s pharmacist role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration across diverse inpatient units, including ICU and oncology, combined with a per diem employment type offering variable shifts. This contrasts with some fixed-schedule roles, providing adaptability in scheduling.

A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is mandatory, with a Doctor of Pharmacy preferred. Candidates must hold an active state pharmacist license and secure Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months, ensuring readiness for clinical responsibilities in hospital settings.

Hospital pharmacists at Prime Healthcare conduct thorough medication history interviews, verify orders for safety and compliance, prepare diverse medication forms, and continuously monitor therapies to reduce adverse drug events, ensuring optimal patient care in fast-paced inpatient wards.

Per diem status offers pharmacists scheduling flexibility, allowing them to choose shifts based on personal availability. This model supports balancing professional duties with other life commitments while maintaining competitive pay within the Dallas regional medical center environment.
