The Chemotherapy Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the multidisciplinary cancer care team, responsible for providing specialized, compassionate, and patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. This RN role involves the safe preparation and administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and other supportive agents, along with comprehensive patient assessment, education, and emotional support throughout the patient's cancer journey.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but are not limited to):
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other medications via IVs, central lines, and ports.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; monitor for reactions and changes during treatment.
- Manage symptoms and side effects; collaborate with physicians for timely interventions.
- Educate patients and families on disease, treatment plans, side effects, and home care.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams for seamless treatment.
- Document accurately in EHR; ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
- Maintain venous access skills: venipuncture, port access, and central line care.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families throughout treatment.
- Triage patient calls or visits; assess symptoms and arrange follow-up care.
Qualifications

- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
- Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
- Ventilator Management experience preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
