Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior leadership, responsible for aligning financial strategy with operation execution. This executive is a forward-thinking leader who challenges the status quo while championing the strategic direction of the company. They understand the importance of culture, brand and market strategy, and has strong emotional intelligence. The CFO provides leadership for development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures, and performance across financial and operational functions.
- Serve as a strategic finance/operations leader and active member of the Senior Leadership team.
- Partner with the President to accelerate execution, optimize outcomes and reduce costs.
- Leader and collaborator with the capacity to bring together cross-function leaders in a way that fosters collaboration and innovation.
- Lead the Company’s innovation efforts including the reinforcement of the behaviors that encourage innovation.
- Represents the organization within Berkley, collaborating effectively with business partners.
- Responsible for the financial management of both long and short-term planning, ensuring scalable systems and processes.
- Oversee of treasury, accounting, budgeting, premium audit, agency bill and accounts receivable functions.
- Deliver accurate financial reporting and forecasting to ensure the company’s financial viability.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure successful audits and compliance.
- Provide strategic financial insights aligned with the company’s market position and business model.
- Monitor financial performance and advise the President on strategic direction.
- Analyze data and performance trends to identify opportunities and drive results.
May perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications
- 10+ years of finance/operations experience
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and operations
- Financial insurance experience a preferred
- Strategic and innovative thinking, creative problem solving, data driven
- Exceptional relationship building skills to work successfully with multiple business partners.
- Exceptional organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks
- Strong project management and leadership skills; the ability to organize and drive projects with diverse stakeholders
- Strong orientation toward achieving results, attention to detail, and proven ability to drive toward long-term goals
- Ability to be nimble and rapidly pivot when needed
- Motivated to challenge the status quo
Education
- 10+ years of finance/operations experience
