    Frequently asked questions

Registered Nurses in the Med/Surg Acute 4 unit at Prime Healthcare Services focus on complex patient care within a high-acuity environment, requiring sharp critical thinking and coordination skills. This role demands expertise in acute care nursing with a strong emphasis on patient safety and multidisciplinary collaboration, setting it apart from general RN positions in Inglewood.

Proficiency in patient assessment, swift response to changing clinical conditions, and accurate documentation are critical. Nurses must adeptly manage medical-surgical patients, utilize critical thinking for care plans, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams, ensuring quality outcomes in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Daily duties revolve around direct patient care including monitoring vitals, administering medications, coordinating with physicians, and adjusting care plans based on patient responses. Nurses also handle documentation and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to maintain continuity and quality of care in an acute surgical environment.

Inglewood’s healthcare market reflects diverse populations with complex medical needs, requiring cultural competence alongside clinical skills. The city’s demand for acute care RNs is competitive but offers opportunities in award-winning centers like Centinela, which emphasize patient safety and advanced care techniques.

The compensation for this specific role is competitively set at approximately $56.63 per hour. This rate reflects current market standards for acute care RNs in Inglewood, accounting for experience, certifications, and shift responsibilities, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Prime Healthcare Services offers tuition reimbursement and a range of voluntary benefits tailored to nurses' career growth. This support fosters continual learning, helping RNs enhance clinical expertise and pursue specialized certifications in acute care nursing within a supportive, award-winning hospital environment.

Prime Healthcare combines a commitment to high-quality patient safety with a collaborative culture, offering RNs access to advanced cardiac and orthopedic services, robotics surgery programs, and a robust support system. This creates a rich environment for clinical growth uncommon in many acute care settings.

Beyond holding a valid California RN license, Centinela requires current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire. While acute care experience is preferred, ongoing credential maintenance and skills in patient assessment and critical thinking are vital for success in this role.

Centinela Hospital attracts a high volume of candidates due to its national safety rankings and comprehensive care programs. The acute care RN positions here are sought after, reflecting both the hospital’s reputation and the growing demand for skilled nurses in the Inglewood area.
