Job Summary and Responsibilities
Participates in programs involving operation and maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, distribution lines for steam, hot water, plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, sanitation for hospital and Medical Office buildings. Must be able to respond effectively to emergency situations, including fire, disruptions of above stated utilities or other emergency situations. Must be capable of performing minor carpentry, building painting and other tasks pertaining to facility aesthetics and maintenance that affect the appearance and safety of Woodland Healthcare buildings.
Job Duties:
Performs Preventive Maintenance
Unscheduled work orders as indicated per policy guidelines. Which includes: Creating work orders through MP2 and closing as needed
Unscheduled Emergency Work orders as outlined on policy guidelines. Creating work orders through MP2 and closing as needed
Completes Scheduled Work orders.
Ensure Manager or Lead Plant Maintenance person is kept informed in all cases
This is a Temporary position.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High School GED – General Studies
Four years of experience in building operations and maintenance in the engineering skilled trades
High School Graduate – General Studies
Licensure and Certifications:
Driver's License: California (Class AUTO:CA)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training:
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex tasks, system problems, and ability to implement effective working solution
Ability to interpret and use blueprints for hospital and medical office buildings, schematics and other technical drawings
Ability to prioritize work assignments
Ability to operate tools and machinery in a safe and effective manner, utilizing safe work practices
Ability to perform duties within the scope of hospital policies and procedures
Ability to interact in a courteous, energetic and resourceful manner
Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations
Ability to understand and operate environmental building control systems
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before individuals or employees of organization
Ability to perform basic computer skills needed to input and extract engineering work orders and other documentation
Physically able to walk, stand, stoop and lift
Good manual dexterity
Visual and auditory acuity
Work in confined space and within some equipment, on ladders at varying heights and occasionally uncomfortable environments, that are not heated or air conditioned
Able to lift equipment and supplies of various weight and size
Ability to locate repair parts, repair or correct identified nonfunctional system or systems related to failure or failures pertaining to the following equipment or systems within a reasonable and acceptable time: boiler systems and related equipment; HVAC Systems and related equipment; Pneumatic controls; Water distribution systems; Fire alarm systems; Electrical distribution systems
Knowledge of: Title 22; Health and Safety Code; JCAHO Standards and applicable regulations; Safety Codes and standards; National Fire Protection Association codes and standards for Health Care
Have clear knowledge of Woodland Healthcare Policies and procedures
Basic computer systems related to building control systems
Computerized Preventive Maintenance System and Work order system
