Responsibilities
The Behavioral Health Nursing Supervisor is a leadership role that assumes responsibility and accountability for the quality of nursing activities and staff function during their shift. The Unit Supervisor will provide direct communication with Leadership. Effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time and equipment on the unit and assists the department Director in the daily operation of the unit. Assesses and monitors quality performance measures and ensures program compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Assists with staff education, employee evaluations, performance improvement initiatives and the progressive discipline process, when indicated. May perform direct patient care within scope of practice and clinical competency to ensure patient safety and patient/nurse ratios, when necessary.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Nevada. 2. Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience with Behavioral Health Care programs.3. Must have working knowledge of mental health laws, practice standards, and continuum of care for behavioral health treatment.4. BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. 5. Crisis Intervention training within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
